Day Wise Detail Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1 – NJP to Gangtok

Pick up from Bagdogra/NJP and head towards the Land of the Pristine and unspoilt natural beauty, Sikkim. Check in at Gangtok (5500 Ft) hotel.  Enjoy your leisure hours with a walk through the Mall.
Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Day 2

Day 2 : Gangtok – Tsongmo Lake , Baba Mandir - Gangtok

After breakfast proceed for excursion to Tsongmo Lake (12,210 Ft), a 40 km drive which takes about 2.5 hrs.
This lake is located very close to Nathula Pass which is the entry point to China & remains frozen for most part of the year.

Relax and relish the surroundings, majestic snowy peaks which feed the lake and the clean fresh air.
Thereafter, visit Baba Mandir (New), a memorial in the name of Baba Harbhajan Singh. Back to Gangtok .
Rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight at Gangtok.

Day 3

Day 3  Gangtok Half day  Local Sightseeing  and Rumtek Monastery  

After lunch, we set off for the local sightseeing of Gangtok covering Shanti View Point, Do-Drul Chorten, Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom and Flower Show.

The Do-Drul Chorten (Stupa) is one of the most important stupas of Sikkim and is built by the head of the Nyingma order- Trullshi Rimpoche in 1945. It contains rare details of Dorji Phupa, Holy Books, Mantras and is encircled by 108 prayer wheels. The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology built in 1958 in traditional style, a renowned worldwide centre for the study of the Mahayana Buddhist philosophy & religion, a treasure house of rare Thankas, statues, over 200 Buddhist icons and prized objects of art. Thereafter visit the Rumtek Monastry.

In the evening, relax & refresh yourself & explore the city. Overnight at Gangtok.

Day 4

Day 04: Gangtok to Lachung (Start time will depend upon time of availability of permit)


Pick-up from Gangtok and proceed to Lachung. Perched at an altitude of 9,600 ft. and at a distance of about 117 kilometers from Gangtok, this entire distance is generally covered in about 06 - 07 hours.
On the way stop and enjoy a few wonderful locations like Tashi Viewpoint, Kabi Lungstok, Naga Waterfalls, the confluence of Lachen chu and Lachung Chu at Chungthang, Twin Waterfalls and Bhim Nala Waterfalls.

Have lunch at Namok at a wayside eatery and reach Lachung by late afternoon. Enjoy the evening on your own at the bank of the river. Overnight stay will be at Lachung.

Day 5

Day 05: Yumthang Valley Excursion.

After breakfast leave for YUMTHANG, the Ultimate Paradise strewn with lush green valleys and high peaked mountains all around you.

You will be driving across the Shingba Rhododendrom Sanctuary which has more than 120 species of Rhododendron trees and is also the home to the endemic Rhododendron Niveum, the State Tree of Sikkim to reach Yumthang Valley.

Yumthang is a lush green valley with herds of Yak grazing around and surrounded by snow peaks on all sides. It is also renowned for its much hyped Hot Spring, which is rich in sulphur.

In April/May/June the valley is a riot of colours with Rhododendron, Alpine & Primula flowers.
In Nov/Dec/Jan you can enjoy the scenic and the panoramic views of the valleys and surrounding mountain ranges with snow-capped peaks all around.

Visitors may also want to visit Yumesamdong/Zero Point. Zero point is close to Yumesamdong, contrary to popular belief that they are the same places. After reaching Yumesamdong, one needs to walk a little to reach Zero point. Officially one is not allowed to visit Yumesamdong/Zero Point. Extra Supplement for Zero Point payable on the spot.

Return to Lachung for overnight stay at Lachung

Day 6

Day 06: Lachung to Gangtok

After breakfast, start your return journey to Gangtok. On the way, stop in between at Singhik and Mangan and if the weather is clear you may get to see the Khangchendzonga Range.
Mangan offers a majestic view of Mt. Pandim, Mt. Kabru, Mt. Simvo, Mt. Jopuno, Mt. Khangchendzonga and Mt. Siniolchu.
Reach Gangtok by evening. Your tour ends with sweet memories.

Day 7

Day 07    Gangtok to Darjeeling

After Breakfast, transfer to Darjeeling, Darjeeling (7100 Ft), the “Queen of the hill stations”, a distance covered in about 4.5 hrs.

Darjeeling derives its name from “Dorje-Line” which means the place of “Dorje”, the mystic thunderbolt. Covering a distance of 88 kms over a drive of 4.5 hrs along winding roads, it’s an experience of unforgettable beauty. Checkin at hotel and spend the day at leisure. Overnight at Darjeeling.

Day 8

Day 08 –  Darjeeling  local sightseeing

Start the day at 4am with an early morning trip to Tiger Hill (7800 Ft) to catch the sunrise on the majestic Kunchenjunga range. On the way back visit the Ghoom Monastery & Batasia Loop. Back to the hotel for breakfast.
After Breakfast, proceed for a half day sightseeing of the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoo, Tenzing Rock, Labong Race Course, Japanese Temple, Ava Art Gallery, Tea Garden (Outer view) & Tibetan Refugees Self Help Centre.

Back to the Hotel by evening. Take a walk to “Chowrasta” the centre point of the Mall area. Do some window shopping. Night Halt at Darjeeling.

Day 9

Day 09 –  Darjeeling – to NJP

The last day of your tour is to relax and soak in the memories of the tour.  Morning is free for packing & at appropriate time we transfer you to NJP Station or Bagdogra airport for your onward journey.

 Tour ends with sweet memories.
