Day Wise Detail Itinerary

Day 1
GUWAHATI You would be assisted on your arrival at the airport/railway station and transferred to your hotel. Take rest and in the evening, enjoy a boat cruise on the Brahmaputra (subject to flood condition) and spot river dolphins in the water. Overnight at Guwahati.


Day 2
GUWAHATI TO BHALUKPONG In the morning start for a visit to the Kamakhya Temple. The Kamakhya Temple is a shakti temple situated on the Nilachal Hill in western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India. It is the main temple in a complex of individual temples dedicated to different forms of the mother goddess as the Dasa Mahavidya, including Bhuvaneshvari, Bagalamukhi, Chinnamasta, Tripura Sundari and Tara. It is an important pilgrimage destination for general Hindu and Tantric worshipers. Devotees from all over India converge on this holy place during Ambubachi Mela and Manasha Puja After returning from the temple, we set off for Bhalukpong. Bhalukpong is a small town located along the southern reaches of the Himalayas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh in India.


Day 3
BHALUKPONG TO DIRANG After breakfast, we set off for Dirang, the land of Monpa tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute visit Tippi Orchid Centre and Sessa Orchid Sanctuary. Evening is free at leisure. Overnight at Dirang.


Day 4
DIRANG TO TAWANG After breakfast, we take you for the local sightseeing of Dirang. Visit the Yak Breeding centre, The Lower Monastery, the Hot Spring, the Nag Mandir and the War Memorial. Thereafter drive to Tawang (141kms/6hrs). On the way enjoy the beauty of Sella Lake and the Sella Pass (13746ft) as well as Jaswantgarh. Jaswantgarh, located 16kms from Sella Pass is a memorial to the brave soldiers who single handedly tried to stop the advancing Chinese army during the Chinese aggression of 1962. In the evening, explore the town of Tawang. Overnight at Tawang.


Day 5
TAWANG SIGHTSEEING After breakfast, we start for the local sightseeing of Tawang where we cover the Madhuri Lake, the Unni-Gompa (Women Monastery) and then drive to Pankang Teng Tso (P.T. Tso Lake) close to the Chinese border. Return in the evening and rest at the hotel. Overnight at Tawang.


Day 6
TAWANG SIGHTSEEING This day would also be dedicated to the local sightseeing of Tawang. We visit the Tawang Monastery, the Boomla Pass as well as the War memorial. The Tawang Monastery is one of the most important elements in the social and religious life of the Monpas. This Monastery is known as "GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE". It is one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sects in Asia.


Day 7
TAWANG TO BOMDILA After breakfast, drive to Bomdila, a distance of 181 kms, covered in 07 hrs. Bomdila, located at an altitude of 8500ft, is the headquarters of the West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh. It is from here that one can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad mountains of the Himalayan Range. The Buddhist monastery of Bomdila is the repository of culture and is among the primary attractions of the area. It is the land of the Monpa, the Sherdukpen, the Aka (Hrusso), the Miji and the Bogun tribes. Enroute visit & enjoy the beautiful Jang Falls as well as the Upper and the Lower Monasteries. Evening is at leisure and overnight at Bomdila.


Day 8
BOMDILA TO TEZPUR After breakfast, we visit the Craft Centre which Opens at 9:00 a.m and produces very fine, colourful exquisite 'dragon' designs carpets, Buddhist Tangkas (wall hangings) and masks. The Ethnographic Museum is another spot, worth visiting. Thereafter we set off for our drive back to Tejpur. Overnight at Tejpur.
